We gained a love of opera as a family and we enjoyed listening to records, CDs and also went to some fantastic concerts together. We took mum and dad to the out door concert celebrating the tall ships and the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus discovery of the New World in 1992. we were so lucky to see Monserrat Caballe , perform Casta Diva.
On another occasion we went to a concert at Bridgewater Hall to see Kiri Te Kanawa. I can't recall whether she sang this aria but it is one of our family favourites and particularly appropriate - O mio Babbino Caro.
